I didn’t start out to become a Victorian restoration specialist—I set out to restore my own Victorian home.
Over twenty-five years ago I moved to Catonsville into my first Victorian home that needed serious restoration. I brought my small cabinet and furniture making shop and tools and began the journey of complex, millwork restorations. Over the years I acquired other Victorian homes that needed similar wood right love and affection. Through working with the Historical Preservation Committee for my own historic home, Homewood, or helping friends and homeowners with replication and repair projects, I’ve acquired tools and experiences that now allow me to help homeowners with unique Victorian restoration needs—especially the smaller, repair needs that most contractors cannot perform and don’t have time for.

I believe the best restoration respects what already exists. Whenever possible, I repair original architectural features rather than replace them, preserving the craftsmanship and character that make every historic home unique.
Whether I'm restoring a porch column, recreating decorative trim, or repairing cabinet doors, my goal is always the same: deliver work that looks like it has always belonged there.

About Us
Homewood Victorian is not a large company. We focus on smaller, fine woodworking , difficult-to-solve, artistic and skill required projects that are difficult to find solutions for in this era of the Home Depot reality and scarcity of highly skilled tradesmen. Our mission is to serve the budgetary needs of homeowners who own historic, Victorian or vintage homes who don’t have the financial means or time for massive repairs or restoration projects that most contractors will recommend.
Perhaps one of your dogs got nervous and decided to claw through a 1920’s Vintage French glass door, or with the Catonsville Fireworks got so nervous that she chewed through your 1830’s vintage newel post and stair treads? What do you do? That’s where Homewood Victorian can help, as it was out of these types of experiences that much of our skills were crafted.
Through fine cabinetry and furniture joinery, woodright techinques, and other artisan craft and problem solving, Homewood Victorian can create and restore most Victorian and vintage home millwork at a cost savings advantage. Our shop is not big, so large projects are not in our wheelhouse, but we know of excellent Baltimore based shops that can do the larger projects. In addition, our aerial machinery allows us to do exterior repairs to the highest elevations on your Victorian home at a great cost advantage to building scaffolding and the cost of renting lifts.
